Cross-slab

The National Monuments Service's description

This decorated garnet mica-schist cross-slab (L 0.93m; Wth 0.44m; T 0.14m) has been reused as the inner lintel over the doorway of the church (GA021-026014-) on High Island. It is partly concealed. The lower armpits of a cross-head are defined by notches cut in the slab and a damaged rounded top arm is partly visible. Traces of an incised margin are evident on the shaft and enclosing the armpits, and there are incised circles on the cross-head and on the shaft. A linear cross with forked terminals is visible in the circle on the cross-head (Fisher 2014, 208, no. 14, Fig. 7.3). (Higgins 1987, vol.
