The National Monuments Service's description
Located in the SE sector of the bawn (GA016-062005-) associated with Kilcloony Castle (GA016-062001-). A rectangular structure (8.5m N-S; 3.9m E-W) was noted in this area of the bawn on a site inspection in August 1980 (SMR file). It may correlate with the 'square enclosure' (c. 21m E-W; c. 15m N-S) recorded by FitzPatrick (2019, 22-3, Fig. 31).
