The National Monuments Service's description

On W-facing slope of a small hill just S of a stream which runs NE into Loch Fána. All that survives are a pair of millstones (Ds 1.4m, T 0.35m) lying 4m apart on the side of the hill. According to local tradition there was a stone structure known as 'the Mill' on the stream but it was demolished to provide stones for a nearby road.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
