The National Monuments Service's description
On N side of a shallow valley 1.6km SE of Renvyle Point. The tomb consists of a gallery (L 4.2m) aligned NE-SW. Entrance to the gallery at NE is by two tall, well-matched portal stones. Little of S side of the gallery survives and N side is incorporated in a fence. The large slab lying within the gallery area and resting on N side may be a displaced roofstone. The monument is clearly of court/portal-tomb type and while it could well be a hybrid, the evidence, on balance, indicates close affinities with the court-tomb class, (de Valera and Ó Nualláin 1972, 2-3)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
