The National Monuments Service's description

On a rise in level grassland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1930) as a circular enclosure (D c. 45m). It is described by Neary (1914, 117, no. 54) as 'an earthen fort … much mutilated and deeply scarped on S. E. Large stones mark where outward bank lay on S. Its diameter was about 140 ft. [ 42.65m]'. No visible surface trace survives. There was a CBG (GA005-033001-) in the interior.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
