The National Monuments Service's description
On roadside in a low-lying area flanked by two ridges to N and S. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a rectangular roofed building (c. 12m by c. 10m), aligned WNW-ESE. No visible surface trace survives. However, a slight rectangular depression (E-W; L 19m, Wth 10m) defined by earthen banks is locally believed to mark its site.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
