The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the S slopes of Piperstown Hill. A habitation site known as Site B. ‘Site B: A small sub-rectangular stone enclosure. It measures about 2-25 m. by 2 m. internally, with its long axis orientated SW-NE, and is situated on the brow of a steep downward slope at the south-west of the plateau. Some of the inner stones in its south-western corner are set vertically. The entrance is probably at the north-east. A more recent earthen bank runs through the south-eastern side of the site.’ Rynne and Ó hÉailidhe (1965, 80) suggested that this possible hut-site might 'only be a shepherd's shelter of comparatively modern times.' This is part of an extensive settlement and cemetery of Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age date.
