The National Monuments Service's description
Located in green area at the edge of a football pitch overlooking the coastline to the east the site is accessible from the Loreto Convent Lane. The well comprises a granite-built masonry underground passage which leads into a stream that rises from the bedrock. The entrance is blocked (Healy 1975, 1-19; Ó'Flanagan 1941-42, 44).
