The National Monuments Service's description
In the nave of St Audeon's medieval parish church (DU018-020075-) is a memorial stone commemorating George Dowde (d. 1636). It is a coffin-shaped limestone slab with one broken corner. The centre of the slab has a very worn IHS, a skull and cross-bones and a cup with 'ECCE HOMO'. It has chamfered edges with an incised marginal inscription in Roman lettering (L 1.79m, Wth 0.74m-0.52m).
