The National Monuments Service's description
Excavations in 1993 at the corner of Bride Street and Ship Street Little, exposed three wooden barrels and part of a timber-lined rectangular pit. Documentary sources, dating, to the late 15th-century describe a tanning house at this site (Simpson 1993, 25-26).
