Gilbert (1854-9, I, 240) states that the High Street flesh shambles were removed in the reign of James I (1603-25). Shown on the Friends of Medieval Dublin Map (1978, L6). They consisted of lean too structures, which were put up against the frontage of houses along the street (Bradley & King1987, I, 33). There is no visible surface trace.
