The National Monuments Service's description
St. Olave's Parish Church was dedicated to St. Olaf Haraldsson, King of Norway d. 1030. The exact site has been identified as 41 Fishamble Street and the adjoining lot No. 40 can be identified with the Priest's House (Bradley & King 1987, 2, 127; Wheeler and Craig 1948, 33). The earliest reference to the parish of St. Olave's is c. 1225 in the Register of the Hospital of St. John the Baptist outside the Newgate, Dublin. It was subsequently granted to St. Augustine's Abbey in Bristol, England. The building was demolished c. 1650. There are no visible remains above ground. Burials were uncovered near the churchyard in 1939 (Clarke 1950, 118-9; De Courcy 1996, 346).
