The National Monuments Service's description
The present megalithic structure which stands in the Zoological Gardens was originally uncovered in a sandpit close to Chapelizod not far from Knockmary in the Phoenix Park. A human skeleton was found within the tomb (Borlase 1897, 381, 2; Poe 1904, 5-6).
