The National Monuments Service's description

According to Falkiner (1904, 59-60) in c. 1680 when the lands south of the Liffey were excluded from a re-organisation of Phoenix Park, a keepership was established at Castleknock Gate on the site of Mountjoy Barracks and the Ordnance Survey. There are no visible remains at ground level.
