The National Monuments Service's description
Limekiln depicted immediately to the north-east of a quarry on the 1837 ed. OSi six-inch map. Standing on the demesne lands of Woodville House (DU017-006----) standing 220m to the north with avenue to the house 50m to the west. Not indicated on the last edition of the OSi six-inch map. Annotated ‘L.K.’ on the 1863 edition of the Ordnance Survey 25-inch map where it is depicted as a square-shaped structure in a small woodland area. Coniferous woodland plantation visible on the 2013-18 MapGenie orthoimage.
