The National Monuments Service's description

Excavated in advance of the gas pipeline to the west (Licence no. 02E0684), this was a cluster of five kilns (average 2m diam.) These figure-of-eight to keyhole-shaped kilns appear to have been deliberately backfilled after use (Tobin 2007, 221).
