The National Monuments Service's description
Geophysical survey (Licence no. 12R010) undertaken by the Discovery Programme as part of the ‘Late Iron Age and “Roman” Ireland’ project identified archaeological activity towards the base of Popeshall hill, c. 200m southwest of a ring-ditch cemetery. Located west of enclosure (DU005-175001-) this is one of two ring ditches located 5m apart (see also DU005-176002-). This ring ditch (8m diam.) has a 2m gap indicating an entrance to the W-SW (Dowling 2013, 12).
