The National Monuments Service's description

Geophysical survey (Licence no. 12R010) undertaken by the Discovery Programme as part of the ‘Late Iron Age and “Roman” Ireland’ project identified archaeological activity towards the base of Popeshall hill, c. 200m southwest of a ring ditch cemetery. Located within the northwest quadrant of enclosure (DU005-175001-) is a possible sub-rectangular structure (10m x 5m) which has been interpreted as the foundation trench of a timber building (Dowling 2013, 11).
