The National Monuments Service's description

On undulating agriculture land. Three short cists (DG079-044001-; DG079-044003- and DG079-044004-) and a fourth possible funerary monument (DG079-044002-) were discovered here in 2004. This, the second cist, was excavated (Licence: 04E0505) in the same year by Buckley and Buckley on behalf of the National Museum of Ireland. It was located c. 2.2m ESE of the first cist (DG079-044001-). Rectangular structure (int. 0.36m NNE−SSW; 0.91m WNW−ESE; D 0.3m) whose NNW, SSE and WNW sides were defined principally by single slabs set on edge. The ESE side was formed by two interlocking slabs. The floor was composed of a single flat slab. This construction was covered by a single capstone (L 1.3m; Wth 0.6m; T 0.2-0.25m). The cist contained the cremated remains of a young adult accompanied by a simple pottery bowl decorated with impressed designs. The bowl had been placed in the WNW corner and the cremated bone in a conical-shaped mound immediately ESE of this (Cahill and Sikora 2011, Vol 1. 140-152).
