The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diam. c. 17m E-W. A subcircular area enclosed by a drystone wall up to 3.2m wide. Much of this has collapsed but short stretches of the inner and outer facing are visible surviving up to .5m in height. On the SE side stretches 1m long, of inner and outer facing turn to form an almost straight edge at right angles to the line of the cashel wall. This probably marks the E side of the entrance. The interior is rough and uneven with rock outcrop and slopes down from N to S. A low scatter of stones inside the wall-face on the W side is probably the remains of a trigonometrical station. The site is located in the Ards Forest Park.

The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.
