The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Approximately circular area (diam. c. 34.5m) enclosed by inner bank lined with badly preserved stone facing (max. H 1.1m; Wth c. 2m), and outer bank, also stone-faced, c. 2-3m distant from inner bank (max. ext. H 1.3m at SE; Wth 1.6-2.1m). Gaps in inner bank at NW and SSE. No identifiable gap in outer bank. Two areas/sub-divisions (c. 15m x c. 7m) defined by low, curving collapsed banks adjoin inner bank at E and W, may represent remains of hut sites.
