The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Approximately oval area (59.8m NE-SW, 52.9m NW-SE) now enclosed by stone-faced earthen bank (H 1.2m; Wth 2-2.3m) similar to field boundaries. Modified and incorporated into present field system. Site possibly indicated by approximately circular area defined by very spread-out rise/bank (diam. 40m). Laneway formerly skirted inside of present bank from S to W.
Aerial photograph (GB89.S.14) shows well preserved ringfort (Barrett 1989).
