The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Tower formerly attached to another building at N as shown by doorways in N wall at all three levels. Building may have included medieval or seventeenth-century structure. Two floors (wooden) over ground floor. Many large Georgian-style windows reaching to floor with fireplaces in NW corners and extensive use of red brick. Gables on N and S walls. Debris in field, possibly of original attached building.
