The National Monuments Service's description

Shown as oval embanked and planted enclosure and named 'Round O Rath' on 1839 'OS 6-inch' map (max. dims. c. 90m NE-SW, 70m NW-SE). Present remains are of large quarry hole enclosed and planted to make an ornamental feature.
A number of prehistoric pits and postholes were exposed immediately to the E during the development work of the golf-course in 2006 (Excavation Licence number 06E0499). They are preserved in situ. See also CW021-005----. (McLoughlin C. 2009, 43)
