The National Monuments Service's description

On a SE-facing slope, on a fairly flat break of slope, in upland grazing with scrub, brambles and gorse. There are limited views upslope from W-N, the view E-SE is dominated by Mount Leinster and lower slopes and there are very good views to the S and SW, with the Blackstair Mountains visible in the distance. There is a standing stone (CW019-066002-) c. 140m to the SE, an enclosure (CW019-068----) c. 115m to the SSE and a ring-cairn (CW019-069----) c. 400m to the ESE. A granite standing stone (H 1.35m), roughly rectangular in plan (dims. max. L 0.7m; max. Wth 0.63m) which tapers towards the top (top dims. 0.3m x 0.25m). There is a stone (dims. 0.48m x 0.3m x 0.15m) at the base of the W side at the N end. There is a grassy hummock around the base of the stone which is in hollow caused by cattle trampling. There are a number of vertical fissures in the stone, particularly noticeable on the S face.
