The National Monuments Service's description
On the SW summit of a hill overlooking the Castlecomer ridge to the W and Mount Leinster to the SE. Two areas of decoration in close proximity on bedrock.
Area 1 consists of a low-level face of exposed bedrock (20m N-S x 10m E-W) with an uneven surface comprising several panels, divided by natural fissures. There are 9 cup marks (diam6-8cm; average D 2cm) placed in a rough arc around a central, sloping terrace, situated lower than the rest of the outcrop at the S end of the exposed area. Of these, 7 are situated on the N side. In the lower, central area is a well-defined cup (diam. 10cm; D 3cm), extending from which is a linear arrangement of four smaller cup marks.
Area 2 is situated 2m SSE of the Area 1 and consists of a small panel of exposed bedrock, featuring 2 well-defined cup marks (diam. 8cm & 9cm; D 3cm) and a linear arrangement of three shallow cup marks (diam. 5-6cm; D 0.5cm) spaced 4cm apart. Parallel to this is a wide groove (D 1cm, Wth 7cm; L 16cm). Other faces of outcrop are exposed, but are not decorated.
