The National Monuments Service's description

Sited on the SW shoulder of a high drumlin hill. Low circular earthen mound (diam. 5m; H 0.5m) enclosed by a low earthen bank with shallow internal fosse. One of six small circular enclosures noted on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. under the collective designation 'Cromwell's Camp' - presumably a barrow cemetery.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
