The National Monuments Service's description
Situated in low-lying, marshy ground in what was once Tonymore Lough. It is said to have been c. 22m in diameter and to have risen to about 0.7m. It was almost entirely destroyed as a result of the construction of a railway line. (Wood-Martin 1886, 197-9; Davies 1942, 19)
