The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on all OS eds. Situated in low-lying wet terrain adjacent to a stream. Almost completely destroyed. The foundations of a small circular drystone-built structure (int. diam. 1.8m) can be distinguished except at N where it is likely that the original entrance was located. Richardson (1939, 35) noted that it was c. 1.5m in height, had an internal diameter, of c. 1m and that the doorway (H c. 0.5m; Wth c. 0.4m; D c. 0.3m) was roofed by a single lintel.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
