The National Monuments Service's description
According to local information, there is a souterrain in a rath (CO150-078001-) in Bawnlahan. It had an opening into it and was accessible in the past. This opening could not be found in 2001 though parts of the rath were covered with dense overgrowth at the time.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
