The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill pasture on bog, on a terrace within a network of field boundaries (CO091-016001-) on a W-facing slope overlooking Glengarriff Harbour. A roughly circular area (diam. 12m) is defined by a stone wall (T 1.3m; H 0.5m), on top of which a later roughly built stone wall (T 0.5m; H 0.7m) narrows as it rises. The lower wider courses, protruding from shallow bog, appear to be the remains of the original enclosing element. The upper narrower wall was added in more recent times, probably as a pen for sheep and cattle. The interior is inaccessible due to a dense cover of bushes. Field walls radiate from the enclosure at W, NW and SE. There is a hut site (CO091-016006-) c. 70m to the S and a boulder-burial (CO091-016003) c. 26m to the NW.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
