The National Monuments Service's description

Overlooking Cork Harbour, on S shore of Marino Point. Early 18th century house, built by the mathematician Philip Ronayne as replacement for 'Old Court' (CO075-065----). Described by Smith (1750, 164) as 'a good house and handsome improvements'; then known as 'Ronayne's Grove', name changed late 18th century to 'Marino'. House burnt c. 1860, replaced by 2-storey house with 3-sided bows (Bence-Jones 1978, 201). To SE of house, brick built bow-fronted orangery (L 12.4m; Wth 7.6m), built against N wall of walled gardens; original ducts and flues for two external furnaces survive (pers. comm. Crosbie). In yard of Marino Farm, to E of main Cobh road, stone milking parlour with Dutch gable, surviving at E end, of late 17th century appearance. House and orangery now within N.E.T. industrial complex; restored.
