The National Monuments Service's description

Built in W-facing slope to W of Blarney Castle (CO062-177----), one of three limekilns (CO073-096----, CO073-099----). Front elevation (W) has lintelled recess (H 2.3m; Wth 2.04m; D 3.1m); sloping slabs to rear (front lintel removed); front of recess extended (1.1m) at top by stone canopy supported on lintel (H 3m). Walls on either side of recess splay outwards towards W ends. Top of kiln enclosed by wall, W wall embattled, S wall collapsed. Stone-lined funnel (diam. 1.95m), small section of earthen ramp to rear. Lean-toaddition (5.2m N-S; 7.6m E-W) to S contains fireplace in SE corner; rectangular addition (4.7m N-S; 7.6m E-W) to N.
