The National Monuments Service's description

On wooded slope in demesne of Blarney Castle (see 9642). Circular structure built in N-facing slope, to SW of avenue. Entrance to E via 6m long stone-walled passage (may have been roofed); leads to pointed brick-arched door ope. Interior consists of circular brick-lined chamber (diam. c. 3.5m; H above ground level 2m); tapering downwards to depth of c. 4m below ground level; covered with pointed conical brick roof. Ope in external N wall leads to mural chute down wall.
