The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered in 1970 in gravel pit; investigated by C.J.F. MacCarthy. Later recorded by J.P. McCarthy (1977, 276-7) from C.J.F.'s notes; he describedfive subrectangular earth-cut chambers. Creepway joined chambers 1 and 2, passage sloping downwards joined chambers 2 and 3, passage between chambers 3 and 4 and creepway between chambers 4 and 5; long narrow passage entering chamber 1 at opposite end to creepway; interconnecting chambers formed U-shaped plan. Small number of animal bones found within. Souterrain destroyed following investigation. No visible surface trace.
