The National Monuments Service's description

This structure was excavated within an enclosure (CO067-087----) at Ballynacarriga in 2001 during advance work on the N25 Youghal Bypass. The structure (4.6m N-S; 5.6m E-W) was found to be roughly subcircular in plan and of slot-trench construction (Wth c. 0.2m; D 0.11m). Internal post-holes and stake-holes divided the interior into two halves. A terminal to the trench on S side suggested an entrance location. There was no evidence of a hearth or finds from the excavated deposits. (Noonan 2003e, 29-30; Noonan et al. 2004, 35)

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
