The National Monuments Service's description
To S of Tourig river. Rectangular structure named Tuck Mill on 1842 OS 6-inch map; existing structures overgrown (int: 8.4m E-W; c. 6.2m N-S); S end no longer survives. Stone arch in E wall which accommodated transfer of power from adjacent wheel-pit. Millstone (diam. 1.32m) nearby may indicate a change in function.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
