The National Monuments Service's description
In gently undulating tillage. Cropmarks (AP, Dr. D.D.C. Pochin Mould) show linear features in same field as circular and irregular enclosure (CO066-058---; CO066-059---).
(1) Possible trackway defined by parallel fosses runs SSE along high ground, from N field fence to CO066-059---, possibly crossing the latter's N fosse.
(2) Parch mark runs down small valley from SW corner of CO066-058---, extending to SE for c. 120m before disappearing onto higher ground.
(3) To W and SW of CO066-058--- are at least three narrow fosses, mostly running straight N-S, c. 30-40m apart.
(4) Slightly further to W is a confusing area of narrow curving fosses mostly running roughly N-S, including short lengths of parallel fosses.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
