The National Monuments Service's description
The E portion of a roughly circular enclosure (enclosure 2) was excavated in 2003 in advance of the construction of the N8 Rathcormac-Fermoy Bypass. The W portion of the enclosure lay outside the roadtake and was not excavated. An arc (C 37.6m) formed by a fosse (Wth 1.1m; max. D 1m) NNE-SSW was uncovered. The fosse terminated 1.5m from the baulk at the NNE end and this undug causeway was interpreted as the possible entrance. Sherds of pottery, dating to the Bronze Age, were recovered from the fill of the fosse along the E arc. A shallow inner fosse (Wth 1.1-2.86m; D 0.2m) NNE-W, which was concentric with the outer fosse, was uncovered in the interior. Two possible Bronze Age structures (CO044-073004-, CO044-073005-) were situated within the interior of the enclosure. The first of these structures overlay the NNE end of the shallow fosse and the second was situated further S. Two other Bronze Age enclosures (CO044-073001-, CO044-073006-) were located c. 20m to the SE and c. 50m to the E, respectively. (Cotter 2006a, 34-5; 2006c)
