The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on N-facing slope, above steep drop in slope. Circular saucer-shaped area (diam. c. 30m) defined by slight scarp; intervening fosse; outer bank (max. int. H 1.2m; ext. H 0.8m) survives NW->ESE incorporated into field fence system and to S as low rise in field. Waterlogging in SE quadrant of interior may be due to 'spring well at South end' mentioned by Bowman (1934, 553) and depicted in fosse to S on 1938 OS 6-inch map.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
