The National Monuments Service's description

In tillage, on gentle NNW-facing slope. Depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured arc formed by bank ESE->NW and by hachured linear field boundary to N and E; arc to S remains hachured on 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch map; field boundary to N and E not shown on 1938 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; circular area (diam. c. 38m) enclosed by barely preceptable rise NW->ESE, soilmark of bank ESE->SW and by curved (1938 OS 6-inch map) field boundary to W. Field boundary survives, but due to field clearance material dumped against it, an examination was not possible. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 553) as levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 43yd) on Mrs Buckley's land.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
