This gateway is referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 659-60) under the entry (no. 14922) for a country house (CO032-266----). The gateway is referred to in the entry as follows: Limestone piers at entrance to E, topped with stone eagles and pineapples.
