The National Monuments Service's description
This church was referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 480) under the entry (no. 14098) for a burial ground (CO031-104001-). The reference to the church within the entry is as follows: 'Bowman (1934, 338) noted church and burial ground covering 'space, 50 yards by 25 yards', though only mound ('10yds by 6yds') remained, with disused road on E side known as 'Bothairín na gcorp' (ibid.). Overgrown low mound (L 9.5m) to E of fence and lane. Locally known as children's burial ground. No surface evidence for road on E side.'
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
