The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on elevated piece of ground which slopes down gently from site to S and W, with a sharp drop in gradient on N side down to stream valley. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps; hachured as bivallate on 1904 OS 6-inch map, at SE corner of small plantation; inner defences hachured as scarp on 1938 OS 6-inch map. Levelled; no visible surface trace of site. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 275) as double-ramparted fort (diam. c. 49yd) on Stephen Walsh's land, with ' inner rampart and two-thirds of outer rampart' levelled. Also recorded by Broker (1937, 51) as in the 'Wood field'.
