The National Monuments Service's description

On E bank of Awbeg River, c. 1km N of Castletownroche. Rectangular 3-storey roofless mill (int.: 13.5m E-W; 6.5m N-S), built against steep scarp to E. Front elevation (S) of 5 bays; windows externally stone-arched over wooden lintels (now gone), brick-arched internally. Infilled wheel-pit alongside W wall; stone-arched ope (Wth 1.3m) for intake of power at base of W wall. Interior empty shell. End walls same height as side walls indicating roof was hipped. Named 'old mill (in ruins)' on 1842 OS 6-inch map, which shows millrace (L c. 750m) to N taking water from river at two points.
