The National Monuments Service's description
In level rough grazing land, which has recently been planted with deciduous trees. An area (c. 26m N-S; c. 26m E-W), in which heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil were identified (pers. comm. John Roche), has been fenced off with posts and wire and is not planted with trees. Thick tufts of grass covering this area made it very difficult to examine the soil. Some black earth and burnt stones were found but the extent of the spread was not determined.
