At end of passage, to N of road. Late 17th/early 18th- century two-storey, gable-ended house. Rectangular structure (15.66m NE-SW; 6.18m NW-SE), of random-rubble limestone construction. Front elevation (SE) of five bays, window opes on end bays blocked; sash windows with glazing bars appear to be inserted; central rectangular door ope; two small 1st-floor sash windows. Outbuildings attached to NE gable blocking door ope on SE end of gable and small attic window overhead. Attic window in SW gable. Small ground floor central window in rear elevation. Brick chimney atop internally projecting stone chimney breasts. Thatched roof in poor repair; thatch of wheaten straw atop oaten straw, reeds used at rear (pers. comm. J. Letts). Central hall provides access to parlour at SW end, kitchen at NE end and small central bedroom. Large open fireplace on NE side of kitchen, with crane and bellows; circular brick-domed bread oven (diam. 0.68m; H c. 0.4m) on NW side of fireplace. Wooden stairs in NW corner of kitchen rises to 1st-floor landing, gives access to three bedrooms. Vacant. (Sleeman et al. 1998)
