In tillage, forming NE quadrant of levelled early ecclesiastical enclosure (13889). Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as roughly trapezoidal area (c. 55m E-W; c. 50m N-S); shown as extended to E by c. 10m on 1905 OS 6-inch map, with church (14441) in SW angle. All that survives now above ground is stump of church wall standing in slightly elevated stony area (6.5m N-S; 7m E-W) surrounded by tillage field. On N side of wall is fragment of graveslab of Charles Eden; full inscription with date of 1625 given by Grove White (1905-25, vol. 3, 292). Enclosure visible as soilmark in aerial photographs (CASAP), as is smaller wedge-shaped enclosure (c. 35m E-W; c. 20m N-S at wider E end) in SW corner of quadrant, with church at E end (latter enclosure not shown on any edition of OS 6-inch map). Referring to church, in 1838, Windele (Grove White ibid.) noted 'no burial ground is attached, and no grave is visible' apart from grave slab of Eden (see above). Jones (1910, 57) noted that in several fields surrounding the church 'human bones have been dug up'.
