The National Monuments Service's description

Ruin of 2-storey 19th-century wing of large multi-period house, now demolished. Random-rubble limestone construction with chamfered cut-limestone quoins; internal walls lined with brick. Front (SE) elevation of 4 bays; large window opes with cut-stone surrounds; hipped roof collapsed (see photograph Grove White 1905-25, opp. 61). Side elevations 1 bay deep, that on NE side prolonged entrance front (NE) of main house. Main house late 17th/early 18th-century; described by Bence-Jones (1978, 65) as 2-storey block, entrance front (NE) of 7 bays with 2-storey, 1-bay, pyramidal-roofed corner towers; 3-bay pedimented central breakfront, central door with scroll pediment; high pitched roof with dormer windows in attic. Built by Freeman on site of old castle (ibid.) (14295). Ruined remains of 2-storey farm buildings to NW, with bellcote. Holy well (13955), abbey (14383) and Poulnagat Cave nearby on demesne. According to local information wing of house demolished in 1995.
