The National Monuments Service's description
Identified in the course of an archaeological desk-based assessment of a tree-felling application. In pasture, visible as a low-level earthwork comprising a sub-rectangular area measuring c. 40m NW–SE and 30m NE–SW enclosed by a c. 5m wide fosse (overall length c. 50m). The feature is consistently visible in successive modern aerial imagery (OSI 2001, OSI 2012, Bing Imagery, ICON 2022). Notably, a possible relict water channel is visible immediately to the southwest of the site which may have fed the moat.
